I have written a book, can you design and print it?

Yes! We love our self-publishing authors and regularly work with customers on their fiction, non-fiction or autobiographies.

I would like to create a personalised book as a gift for my family. Is this something you could do?
Absolutely! We have published lots of personalised story or memory books. Get in touch to find out more.
How long will it take?
Every publication or print job will have different timescales. We will always work with you to meet your deadlines.
I have an idea for a publication but not sure how much it will cost?
There is no set price for publications as it will depend on the size and work involved. However, rest assured we will provide you with a fair and competitive price – something to suit all budgets.
What format should I send my copy or images in?
We can accept text and images in most way, but our preferred formats are Word documents for the text and high res jpeg files for the photographs.
Will I receive a proof?
Yes definitely! We will never print anything until it has full client approval. We want you to be 100% happy!
What if I want to print something that is not a typical size?
That’s no problem for us, get in touch to discuss.
Do you deliver?
We will deliver printed material to the address of your choice either in our own van or via a trusted courier service. If it is an online publication we will deliver digitally.
Is there a minimum number of copies required for a printed document?
No, the advantage of working with us means we can offer short run quantities in house at TypeStart and large print runs are outsourced via Crest.
Do you work with other printers?
At TypeStart our state of the art print equipment means we regularly work with other printers to provide services they can’t. We are highly respected in the print trade, and we work closely with many other printers.
What if I don’t like the design you suggest for my publication?
Once we have had a chat and discussed your publication requirements, we will send you some visuals. This is a great opportunity to tell us what you like or don’t like, we will work on the design until you are 100% happy.
Do you provide a copywriting service?

We require you to provide the written copy for your publication, although we can help you source imagery. If you do need help with your copywriting, proofreading or indexing we can offer advice and recommend freelance professionals to help you.

What types of finishing service do you provide?
We offer a variety of finishing for your publication, see our services for all the options.
Can I use advertising to fund my magazine?
Potentially yes, we have a dedicated sales team that may be able to source advertising to help fund your publication.
